How to take your measurements

The success of any custom made garment is in it's tailoring and fit.  If you were to come to our shop in Karachi, one of our girls would measure you for a sure fit.

However, since this is internet, you will have to do it your self or have a friend do it (better to have a friend help - the measurements are easier and surer).

Starting out  You will need an inch measuring tape, a piece of paper and a pen or pencil.

    What To Measure

Shoulders - Measure accross the back and top of your shoulders from the end of the shoulder joint to the end of the other shoulder joint.

Chest- Measure from under the arm pit accross the breast to the same point under the other arm.  Breathe in for this one unless you want a really tight fit.

shoulder to waist - Measure from the  base of your neck  where it meets your shoulder downwards over the breast to the waist line.

Waist - Measure the full waist size exactly by wrapping the measuring tape around your middle.

Hips - Measure the same as the waist at the fullest part of your hips.

Sleeve length - Measure from the point you started your shoulder measurement to the point where you want your sleeve to end keeping the elbow slightly bent.

Wrist Size - Measure the write by encircling the measuring tape around your wrist (or the place you want your sleeves to end, loosely.  Don't forget to keep it loose enough to pull up over your elbows for wudu.

Kamees/ Dress length - If measuring for a Kamees the length is from the shoulder (next to your neck) to just below the knees (some people prefer shorter or longer - it is up to you).  For measuring a dress, the length is from the shoulder to the floor (with or without shoes is up to you).

Hem - The width of a Kamees is very important, it is usually just slightly wider than your shoulders.  If you have a Kamees already made measure that.  If not add 2 inches to your shoulder measurement to equal the hem.

Shalwar length - The Shalwar is measured from the waist to the bottom of the foot (not to the floor).

Cuff size - Standard measurements are 8 inches for small cuffs, 9 for medium and 10 for large cuffs.  Children are usually from 6 to 8 inches.

Remember: a proper fit depends on correct measurements.  Your measurements are at your own risk.  We can not take responsibility for wrong measurements received from our customers.

Ready made is also available in sizes small, medium, large and children's sizes.

Men's wear will be available soon, in sha Allah.
